KATHMANDU: Pokhara Metropolitan City has launched a free electric shuttle bus service in the Pokhara International Airport area from today.

The service aims to ease transportation for passengers traveling to and from the airport, where public transport options have been limited. The airport is located around 2 km from the Prithvi Highway, and reliance on taxis has been increasing travel costs for passengers.

According to the metropolitan office, the electric shuttle will operate between the airport and Amar Singh Chowk. The service will remain free for three months, with no fare charged to passengers.

Currently, two electric buses have been deployed. The buses will run continuously from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The metropolis has invested Rs 26 million in procuring the two electric buses.
