KATHMANDU: The updated BYD Atto 3 has received over 30,000 orders within its first week of launch in China. The electric SUV went on sale on May 21 and is priced from around USD 16,600, according to media reports.
Sold as Yuan Plus in China, the Atto 3 is one of BYD’s key global models. It is also among the best-selling electric SUVs in Nepal.
The new model is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo. It gets second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology. Battery options include 57.5 kWh and 68.5 kWh packs, offering up to 630 km range (CLTC).
BYD claims the new version delivers up to 120 km more range than before. The flash charging system can charge from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes under ideal conditions.
The SUV is now larger and more practical. It also introduces a powered front trunk and improved cabin features.
The new Atto 3 comes with rear-wheel drive. It offers up to 240 kW power in higher variants. It also gets advanced systems like DiSus-C suspension and DiPilot 300 driver assistance.
The Atto 3 has seen strong demand globally. In Nepal, it is distributed by Cimex Inc. The updated model is expected to launch in the Nepali market soon.
