KATHMANDU: ABYD Atto 3 has entered its third generation with a global debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. The updated compact SUV comes with a peak power of 240 kW (326 hp). It offers a maximum range of up to 630 km (CLTC).

BYD has positioned the new model to revive domestic demand. Sales of the outgoing version had dropped sharply in China. The new Atto 3 adopts the brand’s latest ‘Dragon Face’ design. It gets sharper headlights, a chrome strip, and semi-hidden door handles.

In terms of size, the SUV has grown in all dimensions. It is now longer, wider, and taller than before. The wheelbase has also been extended, improving cabin space.

Inside, the model gets a feature-rich cabin. It includes a large floating touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and head-up display. The car also offers 16 speakers, wireless chargers, and a built-in refrigerator with heating function.

The new Atto 3 comes with two battery options. The base version uses a 57.5 kWh LFP battery. It is paired with a 200 kW motor and offers 540 km range.

The higher variant gets a 68.5 kWh battery. It produces up to 240 kW and delivers 630 km range. One key highlight is the new flash charging system. It can charge the battery from 10 to 97 percent in just nine minutes.

The SUV also features LiDAR-based DiPilot 300 assisted driving system and a continuous damping setup for better ride quality. BYD sells this model in China under the name Yuan Plus.

The BYD Atto 3 is a popular electric SUV in Nepal, imported by Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd.
