KATHMANDU: 2025 is coming to an end, and the EV market has grown faster than ever. Many new models entered Nepal this year.
EVs priced between Rs 3 million and Rs 6 million saw the highest demand. Brands like BYD, MG, Tata, Deepal, Omoda/Jaecoo and Leapmotor remained in the spotlight.
Among them, MG, Tata, BYD and Nammi models made it to the top five most-imported EVs of 2025.
- BYD Dolphin
The BYD Dolphin stands fifth. The hatchback has been in Nepal since 2023. A total of 2,441 units have been imported so far.

It comes with a 70 kW motor and a 44.9 kWh LFP battery. The claimed range is up to 345 km. The Dolphin was first priced at Rs 3.98 million. It now costs Rs 4.115 million
- Nammi 01
The Nammi 01 hatchback from Dongfeng Motors takes the fourth spot. Nepal imported 576 units in 2025. It entered the market in 2024 with a 70 kW motor.

The top variant now has a 49.5 kW motor and a 41 kWh battery, giving a range of around 330 km. Its top variant is the most popular. The price is Rs 3.479 million.
- BYD Atto 3
The BYD Atto 3 remains one of Nepal’s most successful EVs. Nepal imported 636 units in 2025. In total, 4,246 units have entered Nepal since launch. The model comes with a 100 kW motor and 49 kWh or 60 kWh battery options.
Initially launched with a 150 kW motor and priced at around Rs 9 million, the Atto 3 is now being sold for Rs 5.667 million.
- Tata Tigor EV
The Tata Tigor EV takes second place with 876 units imported in 2025. The sedan has been popular as both a private and taxi model. Since 2022, Nepal has imported 2,211 units of the Tigor EV.

It has a 26 kWh battery and a 48 kW motor. The private model starts at Rs 3 million. The taxi variant can go up to Rs 3.6 million with services and additional packages.
- MG S5
The most-imported EV of 2025 is the MG S5. Paramount Motors imported 1,052 units this year. The S5 is also one of the best-selling electric SUVs of 2025. The price starts at Rs 4.3 million. The top variant is Rs 5.4 million.

It has a 99 kW motor and comes with 51 kWh (standard) or 62 kWh (long range) batteries. MG’s S5 comes with the world’s thinnest battery and is praised for its range, comfort, features, and value.
It is also the most affordable rear-wheel-drive electric SUV in Nepal.
