KATHMANDU: Maruti Suzuki India has started testing the updated Brezza facelift on Indian roads. Along with the compact SUV, the company was also seen testing another heavily camouflaged MPV-shaped vehicle, which is believed to be the upcoming YMC electric MPV.
Recent spy images shared by Rushlane show both test vehicles running together on the New Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. The second model appears larger with a taller roof and extended rear section, suggesting a three-row MPV layout.
The updated Brezza is expected to receive revised front and rear styling, new LED light signatures and redesigned alloy wheels. The SUV could also get an updated grille and bumper design along with refreshed tail lamps.
Inside, the facelifted Brezza is likely to offer an upgraded infotainment system, new interior trims and additional technology features. Mechanically, it is expected to continue with the existing 1.5-liter petrol engine and CNG option. Maruti may also introduce hybrid technology in the future.
More attention, however, has shifted towards the second test vehicle. Reports suggest it could be Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming all-electric MPV codenamed YMC. The model is expected to rival the upcoming electric MPVs in the Indian market, including the electric version of the Kia Carens Clavis EV.

The YMC electric MPV is expected to use the same EV platform as the upcoming Maruti eVitara. The platform is jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota and is designed to support multiple electric vehicles.
The upcoming MPV is expected to share battery packs, motors and several components with the eVitara. Reports suggest the model could offer 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options with a claimed driving range of around 550 km.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the YMC electric MPV in India by late 2026 or 2027. Once launched, it will join the company’s existing MPV lineup that currently includes the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6 and Toyota Innova Hycross.
The company is also reportedly preparing a next-generation Ertiga, which is expected to arrive around 2028 with major design, technology and hybrid powertrain upgrades.
In Nepal, CG Motorcorp is the official distributor of Maruti Suzuki vehicles. The Maruti Brezza has remained one of the brand’s most popular SUVs in the Nepali market since its launch.
