KATHMANDU: The demand for petrol cars is slowing down and dealers are less keen to bring in new models. Still, sub-four-meter SUVs remain an option for buyers in Nepal.

In India, these compact SUVs are popular because of tax concessions on vehicles under four meters. They offer features similar to larger SUVs, making them attractive to many buyers. Nepal also has several models from global brands in this segment.

Currently, five small petrol SUVs are available in Nepal, starting at around Rs 3.5 million. These include Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra 3XO and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
