KATHMANDU: Ukraine has officially approved the domestically developed Wolfstorm electric motorcycle for military service, highlighting the growing use of electric vehicles in modern combat operations.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said motorcycles have become one of the most valuable vehicles on the front line due to their ability to move quickly through damaged infrastructure and difficult terrain.
The Wolfstorm weighs 105 kg and is powered by an 8 kW mid-mounted electric motor. It offers a top speed of 80 km/h and a driving range of around 100 km per charge.

A key feature is its swappable battery system, allowing quick battery replacement in the field. The motorcycle can carry up to 200 kg, enough for two soldiers and additional equipment.
According to the media reports, the Wolfstorm can be used for reconnaissance, logistics, drone operations, security patrols, and casualty evacuation missions.
Ukraine also highlighted the advantages of electric propulsion, including near-silent operation, a low thermal signature, lower running costs, and reduced maintenance requirements.
