KATHMANDU: VG Impex, the official distributor of Great Wall Motors in Nepal, is set to begin sales of the Ora 05 electric SUV from today. The model will be offered in two variants and is expected to be priced between Rs 4.7 million and Rs 5.3 million.

The Ora 05 stands out with its retro-inspired design. Circular LED headlamps, smooth body lines and a clean rear profile give it a distinctive look compared to other compact electric SUVs in the market.

Positioned as a rival to the BYD Atto 3 and MG S5 EV, the Ora 05 combines retro-futuristic styling with a premium cabin, advanced safety features and a 100 kW electric motor.

The SUV measures 4,471 mm in length and comes with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. It also offers 200 mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for Nepal’s road conditions.

Inside, the Ora 05 features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating touchscreen running the Coffee OS infotainment system. Other highlights include wireless charging, a panoramic glass roof and premium interior finishes.

Safety is one of the key strengths of the SUV. Features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition and a 540-degree camera. The top variant also gets a LiDAR-based ADAS package.

Power comes from a 100 kW electric motor producing 260 Nm of peak torque. The SUV uses a 58.3 kWh LFP battery pack and delivers a WLTP-certified driving range of 435 km on a single charge.

Additional features include seven airbags, a nine-speaker audio system, ventilated front seats, welcome seat function, a spare tyre and a hidden rear wiper.

Overall, the Ora 05 aims to establish the Ora brand beyond its hatchback image and strengthen its presence in Nepal’s growing compact electric SUV segment. Its unique design, premium cabin and strong feature list are expected to attract considerable attention from buyers.
