KATHMANDU: Nepal’s electric vehicle market continues to expand with new models entering the segment. The latest addition is the GWM ORA 5, which officially went on sale in Nepal in June.

Imported by VG Impex, the official distributor of Great Wall Motors in Nepal, the ORA 5 is positioned as a spacious electric SUV with a retro-inspired design and practical features for local roads.

The ORA 5 is larger than the ORA 3. It offers a spacious cabin and 200 mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for Nepal’s road conditions.

Its design is one of its biggest highlights. The ORA 5 features styling elements inspired by classic European cars, giving it a distinctive retro look. Buyers looking for a unique design may find it appealing.

The SUV is available in two variants. The entry-level model is priced at Rs 4.699 million, while the top variant costs Rs 5.199 million.

With the launch of the ORA 5, GWM is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Nepal. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the growing lifestyle SUV segment by offering premium design at a competitive price.

After driving the ORA 5 across different parts of Kathmandu, the vehicle delivered a comfortable driving experience. The range is sufficient for daily use, while the cabin combines a minimalist layout with modern technology features.
