KATHMANDU: Hyundai’s upcoming Bayon crossover has been spotted parked next to the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, offering an early look at how the two SUVs compare in size in India.
Spy images by Rushlane suggest that the Bayon appears smaller than the Victoris, which measures 4.3 meters in length. The Hyundai model also seems to have a shorter wheelbase, while its wheels appear slightly smaller than those fitted on the Victoris.
The Bayon is based on the Hyundai i20 hatchback and is among the two new SUVs that the company is preparing to launch in the Indian market. It is expected to be positioned between the Venue and the Creta in Hyundai’s SUV lineup.
In global markets, the Bayon is available with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol mild-hybrid powertrain. However, Hyundai has not yet revealed the engine options or launch timeline for the India-spec version.
