KATHMANDU: Chinese EV startup Leapmotor has introduced the updated version of its midsize SUV, the C10. The new model has received design changes, a larger body, improved range, and new features.
Leapmotor has started selling the updated C10 in the Chinese market with a starting price of USD 18,500. The top variant is priced at USD 21,500.
The company has also launched updated versions of the C11 and C16 models under the C series. The new C10 is built on an 800V architecture, replacing the previous 400V platform.
The updated C10 gets a new “Sky Light” split headlight design and an active grille. The SUV features a redesigned cabin with a new sand-brown interior theme, hidden air vents, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip, 60-inch AR head-up display, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, and a 17.3-inch central touchscreen.
The SUV comes with Leapmotor’s LMC integrated motion control system. Higher variants are equipped with LiDAR technology powered by the Qualcomm 8650 chip for advanced driving functions.
The new C10 has grown in size compared to the previous model. It measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height. It comes with a 2,825 mm wheelbase.
The C10 is available in both pure electric and range-extender versions. The EREV version uses a 200 kW motor and offers 290 km of pure electric range with a combined range of up to 1,300 km.
The pure electric version comes with a 230 kW motor. It is available with 69.9 kWh and 81.9 kWh battery options. The larger battery version delivers up to 660 km of CLTC range.
The updated C10 also features an AI-supported smart battery management system. According to the company, the system helps prevent fire risks even after extreme battery overheating conditions for up to 48 hours.
In Nepal, Leapmotor vehicles are sold by Shangrila Motors. The company is expected to introduce the updated C10 in the Nepali market soon after its China launch.
