NADA marks its 50th anniversary with a grand walkathon

KATHMANDU: NADA Automobile Association of Nepal (NADA) has grandly celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Saturday. The event was held under the chief guestship of Anjan Shrestha, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Established in 1975 (2032 BS) by the late Tolaram Dugad in Kathmandu, NADA has completed 50 years of service to Nepal’s automobile industry. To mark the milestone, the association has planned a series of special programs.

As part of the celebrations, NADA organized a walkathon from Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor to Hotel Yak & Yeti on Durbar Marg. The event saw the participation of distinguished guests, NADA executive committee members, former presidents, member companies and journalists.

During the Golden Jubilee celebration, NADA also honored its former presidents for their contribution to the association. The week-long celebrations will continue from June 27 to July 3  with various programs across all seven provinces.

Over the past five decades, NADA has completed 23 general conventions and has been led by 21 presidents. The association has also published the 36th edition of the NADA Automobile Trade Directory, the 51st edition of NADA Auto News, and the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Drive Calendar.

NADA is also preparing to organize the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show in September .

Among the commodity associations affiliated with FNCCI, NADA has received the federation’s Best Commodity Association award multiple times. Since 2015, the association has also been certified as an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) organization. It has continued to contribute to social welfare through various CSR initiatives and has supported the nation during major disasters.
