KATHMANDU : The second edition of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo is underway at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The auto expo, which started on Tuesday, has brought together 55 automobile brands.
By the third day, more than 45 new models and vehicles had been launched at the expo. More than half a dozen new car brands have also entered Nepal through this year’s NAIMA Expo. Hongqi, BAIC, Chery Q, Haval and Honri Vemo are among the brands participating in the expo for the first time.
The expo has seen strong participation from visitors. NAIMA said more than 55,000 people visited the expo in the first two days. Popular and new brands have attracted good crowds, with budget-friendly cars drawing particular attention.

The stalls of BYD, Tata and Chery Q, located almost opposite each other near the entrance, have been among the busiest at the expo.
BYD has displayed the updated versions of the Atto 1 and Atto 3 at the expo. It has also introduced the Atto 2 with a 45 kWh battery pack. As one of the leading EV brands in Nepal, BYD has attracted many visitors interested in its new models.
Tata’s stall, located near BYD, has also seen a large number of visitors. Participating in NAIMA for the first time, Tata has showcased the facelift versions of the popular Tiago EV and Punch EV.

The new Tiago EV is priced at Rs. 2.899 million, while the new Punch EV costs Rs. 3.399 million. The attractive pricing of the facelift models has helped draw more visitors to the stall.
The newly introduced Chery Q brand is also getting strong attention from visitors. Its new-brand status, attractive pricing and global presence have encouraged many people to visit the stall and learn more about the brand.
Company representatives said Chery Q has received an encouraging response since the first day of the expo.
Under its special NAIMA offer, Chery Q is available at Rs. 3.099 million for the Comfort variant and Rs. 3.299 million for the Premium variant. The regular prices are Rs. 3.449 million and Rs. 3.599 million, respectively.

The Malaysian brand Proton has also attracted a good number of visitors. Company representatives said the recently launched Proton e.MAS 5 has received a positive response.
The e.MAS 5 Prime is priced at Rs. 3.299 million, while the Premium variant costs Rs. 3.699 million.
Its rear-wheel-drive setup, modern features and competitive pricing have made the e.MAS 5 one of the attractions at the expo.
Apart from these brands, the stalls of Leapmotor, MG, Wuling, iCar, Omoda/Jaecoo, Hyundai, Kia and Ora are also seeing strong visitor traffic.
