KATHMANDU : eDriveNepal is set to acquire 50 units of the MG Windsor Commute EV for its fleet operations.
G.O. Automobiles, the official distributor of JSW MG Motor India in Nepal, and eDriveNepal have signed a commercial agreement for the supply of the electric vehicles.
Under the agreement, 16 units were formally handed over in the first phase on Thursday. The remaining vehicles will be delivered in phases.
The deal marks a growing adoption of electric vehicles in Nepal’s commercial fleet segment. EDriveNepal plans to use the Windsor Commute EV for its fleet services.
Akash Golchha, Managing Director of G.O. Automobiles, said the partnership reflects the growing confidence in electric mobility in Nepal’s commercial sector.
He said the MG Windsor Commute combines comfort, technology and efficiency. He added that it is well suited for modern fleet operations.
The MG Windsor Commute EV is designed specifically with commercial and fleet usage in mind. It is powered by a 100 kW electric motor that produces 200 Nm of torque.
The EV comes with a 38 kWh battery pack. It offers a claimed range of more than 330 km on a single charge. The model is also equipped with rapid charging capability to reduce charging downtime.
The cabin features an Aero Lounge seating system. The seats can recline up to 135 degrees, providing additional comfort for passengers.
The vehicle also offers a ground clearance of 186 mm. This makes it suitable for varied road conditions in Nepal.
G.O. Automobiles says it will ensure the availability of servicing and spare parts for the model. The motor comes with a warranty of up to eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first.
For commercial use, the rest of the vehicle is covered by a three-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
