KATHMANDU: Hero MotoCorp’s new lightweight dual-sport motorcycle has been spotted in production-ready form, shortly after the company filed a design patent for the model in India.
The new bike is speculated to be called the Hero Impulse. It features a sculpted fuel tank, upswept exhaust, compact headlamp and a digital instrument console.
The motorcycle is expected to get long-travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels with knobby tires and disc brakes, giving it an off-road-focused setup.
The lightweight dual-purpose motorcycle could be positioned below Hero’s Xpulse range. It is also expected to use the 163.2cc single-cylinder engine from the Hero Xtreme 160R.
The production-ready test mule suggests that Hero MotoCorp is preparing a more affordable and compact dual-sport motorcycle for the market according to Car & Bike.
