KATHMANDU: Vehicles imported by Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, have arrived in the country.
The company brought the vehicles through the Korala border point to deliver them to customers who booked MG models during the NAIMA Mobility Expo and NADA Auto Show.
The regular Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border points have remained closed following recent floods and landslides. As a result, the company used the Korala route to bring the vehicles into Nepal and avoid further delivery delays.
Paramount Motors has imported models including the MG S5 and MG S6. The vehicles have also completed customs clearance, according to the company.
However, the vehicles are currently stranded in Mustang after the Kaligandaki Corridor was disrupted by floods and landslides between September 24 and 28.
The company said deliveries will begin once the road section is reopened. The vehicles will then be transported to MG showrooms across the country for delivery to customers.
Around 15 km of the Kaligandaki Corridor in the Myagdi section is currently obstructed. Road repair work is underway, with authorities aiming to reopen the section by Saturday or Sunday.
