Audi Q9 previewed: a new titan in the battle of Germany’s luxury SUV giants

KATHMANDU: Audi has previewed its upcoming flagship SUV, the Audi Q9. The new model will sit above the Q7 in the brand’s lineup.

The Audi Q9 will compete with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7. The SUV is scheduled to make its global debut in July 2026.

Official teaser images released by Audi show a camouflaged prototype of the Q9. The SUV gets a large single frame grille with a new 2D illuminated Audi logo at the front.

The Q9 also features split LED headlamps and connected LED taillights with a light-up Audi badge at the rear.

Inside, the SUV comes with a driver-focused cabin layout. It gets three large screens, including a curved digital instrument cluster and infotainment display. A separate screen for the front passenger is also included.

The center console features dual wireless charging pads and physical control buttons.

At the rear, the Q9 offers two individual captain seats. Buyers will also have the option of a bench seat with child-seat mounting points.

Premium features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and electrically operated doors. Audi has not yet revealed the engine or powertrain details of the Q9.
