KATHMANDU: Chinese premium EV brand Avatr has unveiled an updated Avatr 12 coupe-style SUV featuring significant performance and technology upgrades.
Recent filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) confirm the refreshed model includes an upgraded intelligent driving system and a high-output tri-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing up to 955 horsepower.
The design retains the fastback silhouette while adding a top-mounted LiDAR unit and redesigned semi-hidden door handles. Buyers can choose between 20-inch and 21-inch wheels, with pricing expected to start around US$42,900–45,700.
The new lineup offers multiple powertrain options, including extended-range, dual-motor, and the high-performance tri-motor variant.
Avatr entered the Nepal market in 2024 through a joint venture between MAW Group and CG Motors, initially importing 44 units of the Avatr 11. While CG Group previously handled sales, MAW Group is now the official importer for the brand in Nepal.
