KATHMANDU: BMW has unveiled the second-generation iX3. The new electric SUV is the first model to be built on the Neue Klasse platform and features a fresh design language.
The iX3 boasts an upright front end with a vertical kidney grille and slim headlights with a distinctive new light signature. It also features squared wheel arches, 20-inch alloy wheels and slim, wraparound LED taillights at the rear.
Inside, the SUV features a futuristic layout. It has a 17.9-inch central touchscreen powered by BMW OS X. A full-width Panoramic Vision system runs along the bottom of the windshield. Other highlights include a panoramic glass roof and a new four-spoke steering wheel.

The iX3 is powered by an 800V system paired with a 108.7 kWh battery. It supports 400 kW DC fast charging, adding 372 km of range in 10 minutes. Charging from 10 to 80 % takes 21 minutes.
The iX3 50 xDrive variant delivers 463 hp and 645 Nm of torque via dual electric motors. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.
With a full charge, the SUV offers a range of 679–805 km according to the WLTP cycle.
