KATHMANDU: BYD has introduced an updated version of the Sealion 7 premium electric SUV in Nepal.
Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, has started selling the updated Sealion 7 at the NADA Auto Show 2026.
The new Sealion 7 is priced at Rs 9.299 million. This is Rs 1.3 million more than the previous version, which was equipped with a 100 kW motor and priced at Rs 7.985 million.
The updated Sealion 7 gets a more powerful 170 kW electric motor. It produces a maximum torque of 380 Nm.
The SUV continues to use a 71.8 kWh battery pack. According to the company, it offers a claimed range of 440 km on a full charge.
The Sealion 7 measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height. It has a 2,930 mm wheelbase.
The electric SUV is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo and uses the company’s Cell-to-Body technology. It also gets DiSus-C intelligent damping body control and adaptive suspension.
For driver assistance, the SUV comes with BYD’s DiPilot 100 advanced driver assistance system, also known as God’s Eye. It gets 12 ultrasonic sensors, a 5 mm-wave radar and 11 cameras with an omniview system.
Inside, the Sealion 7 gets a premium cabin with 128-color ambient lighting. It features ventilated seats with massage function, a new four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen.
Other features include voice control, a crystal gear selector, 220-volt power supply for laptops, NFC keyless entry, a 12-speaker audio system and a 50-watt wireless charging pad.
The SUV also gets a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, electro-chromic panoramic sunroof and Nappa leather seats.
Safety features include 11 airbags, a 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors and Level 2 ADAS.
