KATHMANDU: Cimex Inc Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, is gearing up to start sales of its much-anticipated electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7 EV, from July 4.
The Sealion 7, which was first unveiled at the 2024 NADA Auto Show, is now set to hit the roads exactly 10 months after its debut. Positioned as a premium electric SUV, it will take on rivals such as the Deepal S07, Zeekr X and Xpeng G6 in the Nepali market.
Built on BYD’s advanced ‘e-Platform 3.0 Evo’ and featuring its ‘Cell to Body’ technology, the Sealion 7 comes with the brand’s latest DiSus Intelligent Body Control System. This adaptive suspension system adjusts to varying road conditions, ensuring a smoother and more responsive ride.
The EV also features the Di Pilot 100 (God’s Eye) advanced driver-assistance system. It is equipped with 12 ultrasonic sensors, five mm-wave radars and 11 omni-view cameras, enhancing safety and driving support.
Inside, the Sealion 7 offers a premium cabin experience with 128-color ambient lighting, ventilated and massage seats, a redesigned four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen. Other standout features include voice command functionality, a crystal gear selector, a 220V power outlet for laptops, NFC keyless entry, a 50-watt wireless charger, 12-speaker audio system, 50-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD), electrochromic moonroof and Napa leather seats.
Dimension-wise, the Sealion 7 EV measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. The version launching in Nepal will come with a 71.8 kWh battery and a 100-kilowatt rear-wheel drive electric motor.
Thanks to its compact motor configuration, the expected price of the Sealion 7 in Nepal is estimated to be around Rs 7.5 million.
