KATHMANDU: BYD is rapidly expanding its after-sales network in Nepal as the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow. The company plans to increase its service network to 17 workshops by the end of 2026.
Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, has been focusing on expanding service centers, skilled manpower, spare parts availability and emergency support.
According to Sushil Tandukar, Head of Service at Cimex Inc., the company started aggressively expanding its after-sales operations in 2022. BYD now has 14 service centers across six provinces. The company had no dedicated BYD service center in Nepal before 2022.
The existing service centers are located in Biratnagar, Itahari, Birtamode, Janakpur, Birgunj, Hetauda, ​​Narayanghat, Pokhara, Butwal, Nepalgunj, Dang and Dhangadhi. In Kathmandu Valley, BYD provides service from Gaurighat and Kupondole.
Cimex is preparing to open a new five-bay workshop in Bhaktapur before Dashain. It also plans to introduce a quick-service repair facility in Lahan and a 3S outlet in Surkhet.
These additions are expected to take the company’s service network to 17 workshops by the end of 2026.
The company has also selected land for a new workshop in Balkhu, Kathmandu. The building plan is in the final stage of approval. Cimex plans to start operations within three to four months after receiving approval.
The company is also looking for land to establish another large workshop in the Kalanki-Balaju area.
Cimex says it is focusing on providing “Superior & Sincere Service” along with vehicle sales. The company plans to strengthen its after-sales support by improving service capacity, spare parts availability and technical support for BYD customers across Nepal.
