KATHMANDU: BYD is set to reveal its first all-electric K-Car at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The company shared a teaser image on its Japanese website, showing a compact, box-shaped design typical of Japan’s kei cars.

The new EV will be aimed mainly at the Japanese market, with no confirmation yet on plans for other regions. Compared to similar models, BYD’s K-Car appears more spacious, thanks to a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a compact front section.

Spy photos show sliding rear doors, large windows, and ring-shaped LED lights on both ends. Inside, the car features a heated three-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a floating central display.

The vehicle is expected to use a 20 kWh Blade Battery, offering a range of around 180 km under WLTC standards, enough for daily city driving.
