KATHMANDU: BYD electric vehicle owners in Nepal will receive five additional benefits under a new customer care campaign introduced by the brand’s authorized distributor, Cimex Inc.
The company has launched the ‘BYD Update to Care Plus’ campaign. It brings new services under three categories: Care Plus, Connect Plus and Protect Plus.
Under Connect Plus, BYD customers will receive 10 GB of mobile data every month for six months at no cost. The service is being provided in partnership with Ncell.
Customers using home chargers will also receive one free home charger inspection under the campaign.
BYD owners will get a 10% discount on labor charges for dent and paint work. The company is also offering a 10% discount on spare tire purchases.
Similarly, customers installing an underbody battery cover will receive a 10% discount.
Cimex Inc. is also offering an additional two-year extended warranty to BYD customers. The company has partnered with Himalayan Everest Insurance and Shikhar Insurance for the program.
BYD vehicles previously came with a warranty of up to eight years or 160,000 km. With the additional coverage, customers can now receive warranty protection for up to 10 years or 200,000 km, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.
Cimex Inc. also plans to expand its after-sales service network. The company currently operates 13 service centers across Nepal.
According to Cimex Inc. CEO Sahil Shrestha, the company plans to increase the number to 19 service centers soon.
“We have 13 service centers at present. Our target is to increase the number to 19 soon. We have prioritized after-sales service since launching our vehicles in Nepal. We are now upgrading the service system and building a stronger network,” said Shrestha.
The company said the mobile app connectivity feature has been available since the launch of the BYD Atto 3 in Nepal. The feature allows customers to access vehicle-related information and services through a smartphone app.
The BYD Update to Care Plus campaign will run for four months. The company said the campaign aims to address existing customer concerns and further improve its service, connectivity and warranty support.
