KATHMANDU: CATL has launched its online direct-sales platform, CATL Mall, to supply energy storage battery cells directly to small and medium-sized customers. The platform was officially introduced on June 26, 2026.

The new platform targets small-scale energy storage system integrators who require smaller or flexible orders. Customers can currently purchase three battery cell models, including 100Ah, 280Ah, and 314Ah variants. The minimum order requirement has been set at three boxes.

The move allows smaller businesses to buy CATL cells directly from the manufacturer instead of relying on trading intermediaries. It is expected to reduce procurement challenges and improve supply access for smaller energy storage projects.

CATL said the online platform will support long-tail demand while its major supply focus will remain on large-scale energy storage projects and long-term contracts.

According to SNE Research, CATL held a 39.2 percent global power battery market share in 2025, maintaining its position as the world’s largest battery manufacturer. The company also led the energy storage battery segment with a 30.4 percent market share.

CATL expects energy storage demand to grow rapidly. The company has projected that energy storage batteries could contribute half of its revenue mix within the next three years.
