KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has decided to accept a grant assistance of RMB 79.36 million from the Chinese government for the repair and maintenance of the Araniko Highway.
The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. The grant amount is equivalent to around Rs 1.80 billion.
Government spokesperson Sasmita Pokharel announced that the Cabinet approved the Chinese grant for the highway repair project.
The Araniko Highway is one of Nepal’s major trade routes connecting the country to the Tatopani border point with China. The highway plays an important role in Nepal-China trade and cargo transportation.
