KATHMANDU: Six automakers selling sub-four-meter SUVs in Nepal imported a combined 1,813 units in 2025, according to annual import data. The brands include Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Tata, and Mahindra, covering both petrol and electric models in the popular compact SUV segment.

CG Motocorp imported the highest number of units in the sub-four-meter SUV segment in 2025 with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, bringing a total of 562 units into Nepal during the year. Of these, 420 units were mild-hybrid variants, while 142 units were equipped with naturally aspirated petrol engines.

The strong import volume highlights the Brezza’s continued popularity, making it one of the most consistent and reliable performers in Nepal’s sub-four-meter SUV category.

The Kia Sonet emerged as the second most imported model. Kia brought in 414 units during the year. Its distinctive design and multiple powertrain options have helped it maintain strong demand in Nepal.

The Hyundai Venue, assembled in Nepal and sold by Laxmi Intercontinental, followed closely with 403 units imported in 2025. Local assembly has helped keep pricing competitive, supporting steady demand for the model.

Imports of the Nissan Magnite increased following the launch of its facelift version. Pioneer MotoCorp imported 264 units of the compact SUV during the year, indicating renewed market interest.

Sipradi Trading imported a total of 169 units of the Tata Nexon in 2025, with the electric variant dominating the volume. Of the total imports, 164 units were the Nexon EV (K3), while only 5 units were petrol-powered versions. The figures clearly indicate stronger market demand for electric options within Tata’s lineup in Nepal.

The Mahindra 3XO recorded the lowest number of imports. As the model was introduced only towards the end of 2025, just 7 units were imported by December.
