KATHMANDU: BYD’s premium brand Denza has started sales of its plug-in hybrid SUV, the Denza B5, in Nepal.
Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD and Denza in Nepal, launched the SUV at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026 in Kathmandu.
The Denza B5 is priced at Rs. 29.7 million in Nepal.
The SUV is available in two variants. The Dynamic variant measures 4,888 mm in length, while the Premium variant measures 4,921 mm. Both variants are 1,970 mm wide and have a 2,800 mm wheelbase.
The Dynamic variant gets 18-inch wheels, while the Premium variant comes with 20-inch wheels.
The Denza B5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with BYD’s DMO Super Hybrid system. The engine produces 181 hp and 260 Nm of torque.
It comes with a 31.8 kWh LFP battery and an 83-liter fuel tank. The SUV offers a claimed 850 km combined WLTP range, while its electric-only range is around 80 km, depending on the specification.
The B5 features an all-wheel-drive system with dual electric motors. The front motor produces 200 kW, while the rear motor produces 285 kW. The combined system output is rated at 425 kW and 760 Nm.
The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It also features locking differentials on both axles for improved traction on challenging terrain.
The Denza B5 supports 100 kW DC fast charging and 11 kW AC charging. It also features BYD’s Blade Battery and Cell-to-Chassis technology.
The B5 is built on a body-on-frame architecture and comes with features such as adaptive suspension, a panoramic roof, a Devialet sound system, massaging seats and a built-in refrigerator.
