KATHMANDU : BYD is preparing to introduce updated versions of its popular Atto models at the upcoming Nepal Mobility Expo as it looks to strengthen its position in Nepal’s passenger EV market.
Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal, is set to unveil the 2026 BYD Atto 3 during the NAIMA Mobility Expo, which begins on August 11. While the company has not disclosed the exact upgrades, it has confirmed that the refreshed model will arrive with several improvements.
“Bringing upgraded models in line with market demand is part of our strategy. The Atto 3, our most successful model, will certainly be part of that plan. It will be showcased at the Nepal Mobility Expo with a number of enhancements,” a source at Cimex said.
The company is also preparing an updated Atto 1, which will receive several additional features along with revisions to its dashboard layout.
Meanwhile, BYD is planning further updates for the Atto 2, expected to be introduced by the time of the NADA Auto Show. The compact electric SUV is likely to gain new features and may also be offered with a 45 kWh battery pack, alongside the existing 51 kWh version.
The introduction of a smaller battery variant is expected to lower the starting price of the Atto 2, making it more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
