KATHMANDU: Geely has unveiled the new version of its popular electric hatchback, the Geome Xingyuan , in China. Priced at around USD 9,670, the updated model comes with major upgrades, including a first-in-segment 540-degree camera system.

The refreshed Xingyuan gets a new color scheme, L-shaped daytime running lights, semi-hidden door handles, and 16-inch traction wheels, giving it a modern and stylish look.

It measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. The hatchback offers 375 liters of rear boot space and an additional 70 liters in the front trunk.

Inside, the car features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 14.6-inch infotainment display, upgraded from the previous 10.1-inch unit.

The Geome Xingyuan comes with two motor options; 58 kW and 85 kW, producing up to 150 Nm of torque. It uses LFP batteries from CATL, available in 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh capacities. The car can run up to 400 km on a single charge (CLTC certified).

It supports 120 kW DC fast charging, which charges the battery from 30% to 80% in about 21 minutes. A 10-minute charge gives around 120 km of range.

Standard features include six airbags, a dual-mode electric tailgate with anti-pinch, 50W wireless fast charging, semi-hidden door handles, and multiple storage compartments. The model competes with the BYD Seagull and Wuling Binguo Plus in China’s small EV segment.

It is expected to enter the Nepali market soon under the name Proton e.MAS 5.
