KATHMANDU: A flying car has made its way to Kathmandu in an unusual manner after the Tatopani border road remained blocked for weeks.
The Deepal E-Volt, developed by Changan, will headline the NADA Auto Show 2025 at Bhrikutimandap starting August 19.
The unusual transport has reminded many of Nepal’s early days, when the first motor car was carried from Bhimfedi to Kathmandu.
The E-Volt uses eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) technology, allowing vertical takeoff and low-altitude flight.
Its debut marks a milestone for Nepal’s auto industry. Changan plans to invest around USD 2.8 billion in flying car technology over the next five years. The arrival of the Deepal E-Volt has created new hopes for advanced mobility in Nepal
The showcase is expected to draw huge public attention.
