KATHMANDU: The fifth edition of the ‘MeroAuto Motor Rally 2025′ has concluded successfully.
Organized by Automotives Pvt Ltd, the publishers of the automobile news portals www.meroatuo.com and en.meroauto.com, the rally began on Friday afternoon from Naxal, Kathmandu and passed through Gaushala, Chabahil, Jorpati, Sankhu, Nagarkot, Kuntabesi, Zero Kilo and Dolalghat before concluding at Sukute.
NADA Automobiles Association Vice President Nirakar Shrestha and Go Ford’s Managing Director Akash Golchha jointly inaugurated the rally.
More than 40 cars and 100 individuals, including automobile entrepreneurs, professionals from the automobile sector, bankers, content creators and journalists, participated in the rally. It featured most major car brands available in Nepal. This year’s rally was dominated by electric vehicles (EVs) as over 85% of the participating cars were EVs.
Rally Coordinator Ujjwal Ghimire said that the event contributed to promoting domestic tourism, establishing a drive tourism culture, enhancing highway driving experiences, and expanding business networking opportunities for people involved in the automobile industry.
Ghimire also informed that MeroAuto also initiated social initiatives alongside the rally from this year. “We have been organizing the motor rally annually to promote domestic tourism and provide a highway driving experience,” he said. “From this year, we have also engaged in CSR activities, and we will continue this in the coming years.”
MeroAuto provided educational and sports materials to students of Shree Kalika Basic School in Ukhubari in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-2 of Sindhupalchowk. Over 60 students, mostly from the indigenous Majhi community, received school bags, notebooks, pens, footballs, carom boards, and other items.
Former president of NADA, Krishna Prasad Dulal, the MeroAuto Motor Rally for establishing a new dimension in the automobile sector. “MeroAuto has established a motor rally culture in Nepal, which is highly commendable and exemplary,” he said. “By this year, the rally has successfully completed its fifth edition. May this journey continue and reach hundreds of editions.”
Laxmi Hyundai was the main sponsor of 2025 MeroAuto Motor Rally . Similarly, Global IME Bank was the banking partner, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance was the insurance partner and INI Cinema was the multiplex partner.
Likewise, the rally was also supported by Curvv EV, CG Motors, Henry Volts, Leapmotor, Isuzu, Higer EV, Toyota, Zeekr, Omoda/Jaecoo, LR Motors and Arete Interanational.
MeroAuto has been organizing the motor rally annually to mark its anniversary. The rally previously covered destinations like Trishuli, Mulkot and Sauraha.
