KATHMANDU : Hero MotoCorp has filed a design patent in India for a new dual-sport adventure motorcycle in India. The patent images reveal a lightweight motorcycle designed to handle both paved roads and rough terrain.
The new motorcycle features minimal bodywork, a narrow rear section and a luggage rack. It also gets a raised front fender, compact headlamp, wide handlebars and a single-piece stepped seat.
The motorcycle is built around a tubular frame and appears to use a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Hero MotoCorp has not revealed details about the engine’s displacement or performance.
The bike gets wire-spoke wheels with disc brakes at both the front and rear. A bash plate has also been added to protect the engine and lower section of the motorcycle from rough terrain.
The suspension setup and lightweight design suggest that the motorcycle is being developed with off-road capability in mind.
Hero MotoCorp has not yet confirmed whether the patented motorcycle will enter production or when it could be launched.
