KATHMANDU: Jetour’s entry into Nepal has been hit by the recent Bhotekoshi flood, with the SUVs brought for the brand’s Nepal debut reportedly unable to reach Kathmandu.
Laxmi Group is preparing to introduce JETOUR in Nepal. The company had planned to showcase the brand’s T1 and T2 plug-in hybrid SUVs at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo. However, the vehicles were caught up in the flood situation along the Bhotekoshi route and could not make it to Kathmandu.
While Jetour’s Nepal debut has been delayed, the brand is preparing another interesting model for the international market. The upcoming compact electric SUV, currently referred to as the Jetour Tourer, has appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filings.
The Tourer was previewed earlier this year as the Jetour TX concept at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. The production version is expected to retain much of the concept’s design.
The Tourer will sit below the T1 and T2 in Jetour’s SUV lineup. Despite its compact dimensions, it carries a boxy design inspired by the rugged styling of the T2.
The SUV features a wraparound windscreen, sharply sculpted body surfaces and a distinctive full-width gloss-black element at both the front and rear. Four round lighting elements are integrated into these black panels, giving the SUV a distinctive appearance.
According to the MIIT filing, the Tourer measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and up to 1,710 mm in height. It has a 2,735 mm wheelbase and will be available with 18- and 19-inch wheels.
For comparison, the Jetour T1 measures around 4,705 mm in length, while the T2 is around 4,785 mm long.
The Tourer is expected to be offered with both single- and dual-motor configurations.
The single-motor version is reported to produce 200 kW, or 272 PS. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version could deliver up to 275 kW, or 374 PS.
Other technical details, including battery capacity and driving range, have yet to be officially disclosed.
Reports suggest Jetour is considering the Tourer for markets outside China as well. If the model enters international markets, it could eventually become a potential addition to Jetour’s lineup in Nepal.
