KATHMANDU: Laxmi Group is accelerating its expansion in Nepal’s automobile sector with the introduction of three new premium Chinese brands; BAIC, ARCFOX, and JETOUR.
The launches are expected to take place at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, further strengthening the group’s presence in the country’s fast-growing electric and premium vehicle segments.
The new additions will be brought in through Laxmi E-Mobility, the group’s automotive arm. The company already represents Hyundai, BMW, SML Isuzu, Kaiyi and Forthing in Nepal, and is now expanding its portfolio to meet rising demand for premium SUVs and new-energy vehicles.
Among the first models confirmed is the BAIC BJ30e, a strong-hybrid SUV designed for both urban driving and off-road use. Built by China’s state-owned BAIC Group, the SUV features a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor and is expected to arrive in an all-wheel-drive configuration.

Internationally, the BJ30e uses a dedicated hybrid system and offers a combined driving range of over 1,000 km under Chinese test standards.
Laxmi E-Mobility will also introduce the ARCFOX T1, the premium electric hatchback from BAIC’s EV brand. The T1 is available in China with 70 kW and 95 kW motor options. Depending on the variant, it is offered with battery packs of around 33.4 kWh and 42.3 kWh, delivering up to 425 km (CLTC) of driving range.

The Nepal-bound specification has not yet been disclosed. Earlier reports mentioning a 55.6 kWh battery could not be independently verified and do not match the current Chinese market specifications.
The third brand, JETOUR, is a premium SUV marque under Chery Holding Group. Known for its “Travel+” philosophy, the brand focuses on spacious SUVs designed for long-distance travel, family use and outdoor lifestyles.

Laxmi Group has confirmed JETOUR’s arrival but has not announced which model will debut in Nepal. Globally, the lineup includes the X50, X70, X90 and the rugged T2, which is widely considered a strong fit for Nepal’s terrain.
Laxmi Group has been active in Nepal’s automobile industry for more than three decades. In addition to vehicle distribution, it operates one of the country’s first passenger vehicle assembly facilities through Laxmi Motor Corporation in Ramgram, Nawalparasi, where Hyundai Creta and Venue models are assembled for the local market.
