KATHMANDU: Kinetic Watts and Volts is gearing up for a return. The company’s new electric scooter, inspired by the classic Kinetic Honda ZX, has been spotted during test runs in India. According to Rushlane, the launch could be near.

The upcoming model brings back the familiar look of the ZX, which was once a common sight on Nepali roads in the 1990s. Known for its simple design and reliable performance, the original model holds nostalgic value. Kinetic aims to revive that charm with a modern touch.

Spy shots show a prototype that closely resembles the old ZX. Key design elements such as the front apron, handlebar cowl, mirrors and body shape remain similar. Even the number plate placement follows the old pattern.

The new scooter, however, adds modern features. It includes LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster. A hub-mounted motor is expected to power the vehicle, which is an efficient choice for city commutes.

The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. A front disc brake is also visible on the test unit.

With a retro design and expected affordable pricing, the scooter will likely compete with models like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Ather Rizta. Technical details have not been revealed yet, but the model is already drawing attention.

Kinetic seems ready to re-enter the two-wheeler market, this time blending nostalgia with electric innovation.
