KATHMANDU: Mahindra has launched its Born Electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, in Chitwan, expanding its electric vehicle presence beyond major cities. The regional launch was conducted by Agni Aastha Private Limited, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal.
The event was held in Bharatpur with the participation of Agni Group Chairman Cabinet Shrestha and Mahindra & Mahindra Country Manager Chaitanya Kagalkar. Industry representatives, customers, and media were also present.
Both models are built on Mahindra’s INGLO electric platform. Most variants produce 99 kW of power, while the XEV 9e Pack Three delivers up to 199 kW. The XEV 9e has been awarded Green Car of the Year 2026 at the ICOTY Awards in India.
In terms of features, the XEV 9e offers ADAS Level 2+, a triple-screen dashboard, and an AR-based head-up display. The BE 6 comes with ADAS Level 2 and a driver-focused digital cockpit. Both SUVs include connected features via Mahindra’s ME4U app.
Mahindra stated that similar regional EV launches are planned in Birgunj, Bhairahawa, and Itahari as part of its nationwide expansion strategy.
