KATHMANDU: Maruti Suzuki has introduced an optional swivel seat for the WagonR. The new feature is meant to help senior citizens and persons with disabilities enter and exit the car more easily.

The swivel seat has been developed in partnership with Bengaluru-based startup TRUEAssist Technology. It rotates outward, reducing the effort needed to get in and out of the vehicle.

The kit is offered as a retrofit option at dealerships. It can be installed in both new and existing WagonR models. The original seat does not need to be replaced.

Maruti Suzuki says the installation takes about one hour. No structural changes to the car are required.

The company also confirms that the swivel seat kit has been tested by ARAI. It meets all safety standards and comes with a three-year warranty.
