KATHMANDU: The MG S5 EV has received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, putting to rest months of speculation and concern over its safety performance.

Since no recognized agency had assessed the vehicle until now, there were speculations about the car’s safety credentials across social media and online platforms in Nepal.

The top-tier safety rating confirms that the MG S5 meets the highest standards of protection across all major safety categories. According to Euro NCAP’s official results, the S5 scored 90% for adult occupant protection, 82% for child occupant protection, 82% for protection of vulnerable road users and 78% in safety assist. The safety rating underscores the advanced safety technologies and solid engineering in the car.

Available in three variants in Nepal—Comfort, Deluxe and Luxury, the S5 EV offers competitive pricing without compromising on technology or performance. It is powered by a 62.2 kWh battery, claimed by MG as the world’s thinnest, and offers a WLTP range of up to 430 km. The EV supports 7 kW AC charging and DC fast charging up to 150 kW.
