KATHMANDU: The new-generation Renault Duster and its sibling, the Nissan Tekton, have been spotted testing together on Indian roads. Both SUVs were seen testing alongside the Hyundai Creta, hinting at their direct segment positioning.
Renault is set to launch the third-generation Duster on January 26. The Nissan Tekton is expected to follow in the second quarter of CY26.
Spy images shared by Rushlane show the Duster in white camouflage, while the Tekton appears in blue. Both SUVs are based on the CMF-B platform and share a similar silhouette. Ground clearance also appears identical.
Despite shared underpinnings, both models feature distinct exterior styling. The new Duster gets Y-shaped DRLs and tail lamps, while the Tekton uses C-shaped lighting elements. Grilles, bumpers, alloy wheels, and door trims will also differ. Some exclusive color options are expected.

Inside, both SUVs are likely to offer a similar feature set. Expected highlights include a modern cabin layout, improved noise insulation, automatic climate control, wireless charging, keyless entry, premium upholstery, and a premium audio system.
Safety features are expected to include six airbags, ESP, traction control, hill assist, parking sensors, cameras, TPMS, and Level 2 ADAS.
Both SUVs will share the same powertrain options. A 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine will be offered initially. Hybrid, CNG, and AWD options are expected at a later stage.
Meanwhile, Renault India has released a teaser video of the new-generation Duster, nearly a month ahead of its official launch.
