River Indie showroom opens in Naxal, Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: River Indie, an electric scooter brand from India, has opened a new showroom in Naxal, Kathmandu.

Vishal Group, the official distributor of River Indie in Nepal, started operations at the new showroom on Sunday. The company introduced the electric scooter in Nepal in August, with a price tag of Rs 370,000.

Developed under the concept of an “SUV of scooters,” the River Indie is designed for both urban and rural roads. The company says the model has gained international recognition, winning the Red Dot Design Concept Award in 2024 and the Red Dot Product Design Award in 2025.

The scooter is powered by a 6.7 kW mid-drive motor and a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery. It has a claimed IDC range of up to 160 km on a full charge and a top speed of 90 km/h. The scooter can also climb slopes of up to 18 degrees.

The River Indie offers 177 mm of ground clearance and rides on 14-inch wheels. It features 55 liters of storage space, telescopic suspension, tubeless tires and alloy wheels.

Other features include a fully digital display, LED lighting, a projector headlamp, fast charging, riding modes, regenerative braking, reverse assist and a combined braking system (CBS).

River offers a warranty of up to eight years on the scooter.
