Other locations include Kaski, Pokhara (Gandaki Province); Rupandehi, Butwal; Dang, Tulsipur; Nepalganj, Banke (Lumbini Province); and Surkhet (Karnali Province).

To support the system, the department plans to install RFID gates at 10 major entry points to digitally track vehicles with embossed plates. Gates at Nagdhunga and Nagarjun in Kathmandu have already been completed and are operational.

The government says the move aims to modernize the transport system, improve security, enhance transparency and make traffic management and vehicle monitoring more efficient through digital systems.
