KATHMANDU: Three new electric scooters are set to enter the Nepali market.
Bajaj, Ather and Ampere are preparing to launch their new electric offerings before the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo that kicks off in Kathmandu on August 6.
While Bajaj is launching Chetak, Ather is bringing Rizta to Nepal and Ampere is unveiling Nexus scooter.
Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the official distributor of Bajaj in Nepal, is setting up a dedicated showroom and service center for the Chetak in Naxal. The company is likely to start sales of the Chetak within mid-July. The electric scooter is expected to be priced below Rs 300,000.
While Bajaj is launching Chetak, Ather is bringing Rizta to Nepal and Ampere is unveiling Nexus scooter.
Similarly, Vaidya Energy, the official distributor of Ather scooters, has begun testing the Rizta on Nepali roads. The company is preparing to unveil the scooter during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo. Ather has already opened bookings for the scooter, which is expected to be priced at around Rs 300,000.
Likewise, Kedia International, the official distributor of Ampere in Nepal, is preparing for the launch of Ampere Nexus scooter. According to the company, the Nexus could go on sale from the second week of July. The company has priced the Nexus at Rs 329,900.
