KATHMANDU: Baidya Group has officially introduced motorcycles from the Morbidelli brand in Nepal from Thursday. The company launched five models, ranging from 250 cc to 1000 cc.

Among them, the Morbidelli T 1002 VX has gained the most attention due to its aggressive pricing.

Most affordable in the segment

The T 1002 VX is priced at Rs 4.499 million. This makes it the most affordable 1000 cc motorcycle currently available in Nepal.

In comparison, liter-class models like the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 and BMW S 1000 RR are priced above Rs 10 million. Even several 800 cc motorcycles in the market cost around Rs 5 million. This pricing gap has made the Morbidelli model a major talking point.

The T 1002 VX is a premium adventure tourer. It is powered by a 997 cc V-twin, 8-valve engine.

The engine produces 88.5 hp and 89 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.

The motorcycle uses a 43 mm fully adjustable USD front fork from KYB. At the rear, it gets a KYB multi-link mono-shock.

For braking, it features twin 320 mm front discs and a 260 mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS from Bosch is standard.

The T 1002 VX runs on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless spoke wheel setup. It has a 20-liter fuel tank and a relatively accessible 820 mm seat height.

The motorcycle comes equipped with a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, along with four riding modes; Rain, Standard, Sport, and Off-road. It also features traction control and cruise control for added safety and comfort.

Premium touches include heated grips and a heated seat, a full LED lighting setup, and an adjustable windshield for better touring convenience.

Morbidelli is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded by Giancarlo Morbidelli . The brand achieved notable success in Grand Prix motorcycle racing during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Known for its distinctive design and strong racing heritage, Morbidelli’s entry into Nepal with competitive pricing in the liter-class segment is expected to disrupt the premium motorcycle market.
