KATHMANDU: Buyers of the Yatri P2, Nepal’s first locally made electric scooter, can now customize its features and parts according to their own needs.
Sipradi Yatri is letting customers choose things like battery, charging capacity, app, color, and tech features based on what they want. Since the Yatri P2 is designed, researched, developed, and manufactured entirely in Nepal, the company says this level of customization is possible.
The P2 comes in three battery and motor variants. Customers can add different features to any of these variants, but each addition comes at an extra cost. So the final price often ends up higher than the base price the company lists. Depending on the variant, buyers can add up to 10 different features or parts.
Some of the customizable options include a range extender battery, cruise control, connectivity, regen taillight, dash pack, premium handlebar grip, premium mirrors, Michelin tires, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The base prices for the three variants are Rs 3,29,900 for the 3 kWh version, Rs 3,99,900 for the 3.7 kWh version, and Rs 4,99,900 for the 5.2 kWh version. These come with 6 kW, 8 kW, and 10 kW electric motors respectively.
Depending on the variant, customization can cost up to an additional Rs 1,64,000. According to the company, customizing the scooter this way makes it more attractive, gives better range, and adds more safety and features.
Here’s what each feature costs
3 kWh variant: This version offers 7 customizable features and parts, costing up to Rs 52,790 in total. With all features added, the price reaches Rs 3,83,000.
Buyers can add a standard connectivity system for Rs 19,200, cruise control for Rs 5,000, regen taillight for Rs 2,500, dash pack for Rs 5,650, Michelin tires for Rs 16,000, premium mirrors for Rs 3,480, and handlebar grip for Rs 960.
3.7 kWh variant: This version allows 10 different features and parts to be added, costing up to Rs 1,64,190 in total. With everything added, the total price comes to Rs 5,64,000.
Here, buyers can add a 1.8 kWh range extender battery, which adds 50 km of range, for Rs 90,600. An advanced connectivity system costs an extra Rs 25,000.
Other additions include cruise control for Rs 5,000, anti-theft pack for Rs 5,000, an 8-year extended warranty for Rs 9,990, dash pack for Rs 5,650, Michelin tires for Rs 16,000, premium mirrors for Rs 3,480, and handlebar grip for Rs 960.
5.2 kWh variant: This version offers 7 customizable features, costing up to Rs 1,49,440 in total. With all features added, the price reaches Rs 6,49,000.
This variant also allows the 1.8 kWh range extender battery for Rs 90,600. Other options include a 2000W rapid charger for Rs 29,000, Michelin tires for Rs 16,000, premium mirrors for Rs 3,480, premium handlebar grip for Rs 960, dash pack for Rs 5,650, and a tire pressure monitoring system for Rs 3,750.
