KATHMANDU: Mahindra has launched its new 1.7-ton Bolero pickup in the Nepali market.

The updated model offers a higher load capacity and comes at a more competitive price, according to Agni Incorporated, the authorized distributor of Mahindra in Nepal.

The company organized the launch event simultaneously in five cities, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Birgunj, Biratnagar and Bharatpur, on Sunday.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Bolero offers an additional 200 kg of load capacity. The pickup is powered by a 2.5-liter M2DICR diesel engine that delivers 63 horsepower and 195 Nm of torque. It features a longer cargo bed, heavy-duty double bearing axles, and a 9-leaf spring suspension system.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle offers added comfort with a wider co-driver seat, a reclining driver seat and a headrest, according to the company.

Despite the upgrades, the pickup starts at Rs 2.685 million—lower than the Rs 2.765 million price tag of the previous version.

Agni Incorporated is also offering financing options of up to 70% at an interest rate of 9.99%. Customers who book the vehicle by the end of June will be exempt from finance processing fees, the company added.
