2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 unveiled with updated design and hyperscreen

KATHMANDU: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 facelift, giving its flagship luxury SUV a refreshed design, upgraded technology and enhanced comfort.

The updated model features a larger chrome grille with an illuminated surround and Maybach lettering. It also gets redesigned LED headlights with dual star-shaped daytime running lights, while buyers can opt for an illuminated Mercedes-Benz bonnet emblem.

The SUV comes with powered side steps, revised front and rear bumpers with chrome accents, and dual chrome exhaust outlets. At the rear, wraparound LED taillights with star-shaped graphics are connected by a black trim. It rides on 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 23-inch monoblock wheels offered as an option.

Inside, the facelifted Maybach GLS debuts the Mercedes Hyperscreen, comprising three 12.3-inch displays. The cabin features premium leather upholstery, improved sound insulation for a quieter ride, and reclining rear seats with extendable footrests.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 595 hp and 850 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that can provide an additional 23 hp during acceleration.

The luxury SUV also benefits from an air suspension system and revised steering, aimed at delivering an even smoother and more refined driving experience.
