KATHMANDU: Car distributors in Nepal have intensified sales campaigns by introducing multiple schemes, with exchange camps emerging as the most common strategy to attract buyers.

Following the elections, automobile companies have been actively pushing offers to boost business activity. Among nearly two dozen car brands currently operating in the market, most are providing various schemes. Some brands have even continued the cash discounts initially offered during the Dashain-Tihar festive season.

At present, brands like Deepal, Tata, Kaiyi, Forthing, Zeekr, Xpeng, and Aion are offering different promotional schemes. In addition, many other brands are running exchange offers on a regular basis.

Most of these campaigns are focused on customers looking to replace their old vehicles with new ones. Buyers are also more inclined to participate in such exchange camps, as they often find better value compared to regular purchase periods.

Hyundai has launched a test drive campaign targeting the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026. The campaign includes showroom visits, test drives, and vehicle purchases. According to the company, one lucky couple will get an opportunity to travel to the United States to watch the tournament live.

Tata Motors has also been actively introducing new schemes every month to attract customers. Its latest offer targeting two-wheeler users looking to upgrade to cars, particularly the Tiago EV has gained notable attention.

Meanwhile, brands like Deepal, Avatr, Seres, and Nammi are set to organize a multi-brand exchange event titled “Mega Exchange Carnival,” scheduled from March 25 to March 27. The event aims to bring multiple brands under one roof for customer convenience.

Similarly, Laxmi E-Mobility, the authorized distributor of Forthing, is organizing an exchange event for its Friday SUV, offering benefits of up to Rs 700,000. This event will run from March 19 to March 21.

Exchange camps have increasingly become a key sales tool for major automobile brands in Nepal. Many companies that hesitate to offer direct discounts are using exchange schemes as an alternative way to provide benefits, ultimately passing on the advantage to customers.
