KATHMANDU: Hyundai has officially revealed the next-generation i20 for the Brazilian market. The model was recently leaked online, showcasing a bold and polarizing design.

The new i20 is built on the K3 platform. It measures 4,130 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The boot capacity stands at 346 liters.

At the front, the car features a sharp design with arrowhead-shaped headlamps and Y-shaped LED DRLs connected by a light bar. The rear design appears more unconventional with a quirky styling approach. The car rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin gets a two-tone gray finish. It features a new 3-spoke steering wheel and a curved display integrating the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system.

The center console is slimmer and includes vertical AC vents with climate controls placed between them. The seats come with two-tone leather upholstery.

Other features include a front center armrest, cupholders, and a wireless charging pad.

In Brazil, the i20 is offered with two flex-fuel engine options. The base variant gets a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It produces 74 bhp and 92 Nm on petrol, and 79 bhp and 100 Nm on ethanol.

The higher variant uses a 1.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection engine. It delivers 113 bhp and 172 Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
