Riddara RD6 Econ: among Nepal’s most affordable 4WD electric pickups

KATHMANDU: Riddara, a brand under Geely Auto Group, is selling the RD6 Econ electric pickup in Nepal with a four-wheel-drive system.

The pickup is priced at Rs 7.599 million and is sold in Nepal by CG Motors. It is positioned as one of the most affordable 4WD electric pickups currently available in the market.

The RD6 Econ comes with a 280 kW electric motor that produces 485 Nm of peak torque. It also offers 225 mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for Nepal’s varied road conditions and commercial applications.

The pickup has a top speed of 160 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in seven seconds.

It comes with multiple driving modes, including Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sand, Mud and Snow. The system allows drivers to select different modes according to road and driving conditions.

Strong load and towing capacity

The Riddara RD6 Econ can carry up to 1,235 kg of payload and tow up to 3,000 kg. Its cargo bed measures 1,525 mm in length, 1,450 mm in width and 540 mm in height. It also gets a 70-liter front trunk under the bonnet.

These capabilities make the pickup suitable for customers looking for an electric vehicle for commercial and utility purposes.

Battery and range

The RD6 Econ is equipped with a 73 kWh LFP battery. It has a claimed range of 390 km under the NEDC testing cycle. Under real-world driving conditions, the pickup is expected to deliver around 300 km of range, depending on road and driving conditions.

The battery supports up to 90 kW DC fast charging. According to the company, the battery can charge from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes using a compatible charger. Despite being a pickup, the RD6 Econ offers seating for five passengers.

Features and safety

The pickup comes with a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include voice commands, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone air conditioning, rear passenger AC vents and a panoramic sunroof.

It also gets a multifunction steering wheel and a 540-degree surround-view camera.

Safety features include airbags, four-wheel disc brakes and a 14-function ADAS package. Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control are also available.

The 4WD pickup rides on 18-inch wheels and offers 225 mm of ground clearance. It also has a water-wading capacity of 815 mm, adding to its off-road capability.
